HI, I have a sudden opening of a room for fri,sat & sun nights if anyone (or two, it's a double bed) dancers would like to stay here. You can have free reign of the house which is in a quiet neighborhood and just uphill from Starbucks and a great bakery and restaurants. About 15min to dance locations (3 miles from downtown). You will need a car, or can try to carpool with me for the night milongas.

room available for sharing
Hi Jerry,
We met in Ann Arbor about a year ago.
I am coming to Portland on Thursday for ValenTango. I booked a room in the Hilton [downtown]. I believe I got a good rate. But if anyone is looking for a place to stay, my room is available for sharing. I booked a car too. So we can even share car rides to the venues too. Let me know.
See you later this week,
Sanjay

Tango Lodging
I will have 1 or 2 bedrooms available (queen bed & double bed) and 2 single futons available for guests Friday to Monday. I also have lots of carpeted floor space if anyone wants to bring their sleeping bag with them (or borrow, I have several). I have a large home in SW Portland about 3 miles from downtown. You will need a car to get around, it takes about 15min to get to the dance locations. Please email me for details at marottachern@comcast.net. I may be able to accommodate 1 or 2 guests earlier in the week.

Can arrange bike-friendly homestays
I don't know if visitors know it, but Portland is a very bike-friendly city (as long as you have rain gear!). Some of us are working on making the bike-tango connection by organizing a Saturday night ride from the Grand Ball to the after-hours party, and we've put together a website with maps as well: http://www.exitshoes.com/bike/
Anyway, I could organize a limited number of bike-friendly homestays if anyone is interested. Your host will be a cyclist and may also be a dancer (depends on how many requests we get). Your host can help you with route planning and bike logistical questions. Some hosts may also be able to loan you a bike; if not, we can help you find a place to rent a bike.
If you're interested, please contact me: Jessica Roberts (jr0berts23 at yahoo dot com).

Lodging Offered
I have a guest room in Lake Oswego with two comfy cots and its own bathroom. I'm not really asking for a monetary amount, it is nice when whoever stays just gets creative. One time I had 3 guests, one cooked dinners, another brought wine & food, another brought a gift. Whatever works...I am not asking for anything. There is also enough floor space in the office loft for a mat or thermarest. Just email me or call my cel 503-312-5534. Melody
